01First description

Norbaeocystin was reported by Leung and Paul in 1968, together with baeocystin, as a new analogue of psilocybin from Psilocybe baeocystis.

The paper is not available in abstract or full text through the indexes consulted here, and is cited for the report its title describes.

02Occurrence in Psilocybe cubensis

Norbaeocystin is among the six tryptamines quantified in Psilocybe cubensis fruiting bodies in a 2026 study of within-species variability. That source is cited at abstract level, and its quantitative results are not reproduced here.

03Scope of this record

This record covers chemical identity and the published history of the compound. It does not describe effects, preparation or dose, and nothing here is guidance for use.
