Selected openly licensed photographs now accompany species accounts. Each caption records its creator, source, licence and available date, locality and observation context. Source identification is attributed; it is not an independent specimen determination.
Field photography, herbarium specimens, microscopy, archival images and historical plates share this attribution requirement. Photographs are not sufficient for mushroom identification.
02Image preparation
Photographs are resized and re-encoded for responsive display, with the full composition retained. Each source licence also applies to our image derivatives. No generated reconstructions or retouched scientific details are used.
